Ski Building workshops

Imagine looking down at your skis as you sit on a chair lift, or floating through powder and think to yourself:  I made these!

It's this incredible feeling that kept me building skis for myself as a hobby year after year and that finally led to the founding of Ronin. The joy and satisfaction of exploring the mountains on skis you built with your own hands is truly unique and fulfilling.

During a (ski building) workshop, I will work with you one-on-one, and with my help, you will build your own pair of Ronin.

No previous woodworking or composite experience is needed. You just need to be excited to try something challenging and set aside 2-3 days in the Chamonix Valley.

All material and safety gear will be provided. You will build a pair of skis of your choice, customize the flex pattern and then take them home with you.

Drop me a mail if the idea of crafting something unique appeals to you and for details on availability and pricing.

" My favourite part of the process was coming in on the final morning and getting the skis out of the press...the whole process came together and I couldn’t stop grinning "

" I wanted a really really good product that I wanted to produce myself without any skills or prior expertise. Ronin and Jonno delivered just that. "

" Some aspects of construction felt natural and easy and others were intimidating - I didn't want to slip up and ruin my skis! Jonno was always right there with calm and relaxed energy coaching me through each step. "

" So, how do they ski? They're awesome. Stable at high speed in chunder, holds an edge when I want them to, releases with the right amount of input, ridiculously light underfoot, playful... and gorgeous. "

" Thoroughly recommended – Jonno is hugely competent both at skiing and at building skis and I really enjoyed my few days hanging out with him and coming home with a new set up I’d put together myself. "

" His approach was almost like a train the trainer routine, so making sure he explained well, showing how it's done and then allowing you to do it yourself, so you walk away with knowledge and practical experience. "
